A year older, a year wiser

Age has caught up, and I’m a year older.

Thinking positively, I’m now a year wiser, which is good ;)

The start of 2012 wasn’t smooth for me. I had 2 car accidents in 2 weeks, and the second was a serial car accident. Again, thinking positively, I’m glad to be 1 good piece. You know, when there’s up, there’s down, so now I’m down, it’s time to go up!

I’ll stay cool ;)

New Year Resolution

Time flies really fast this year!

And pretty soon it’s time to put a full stop to mark the end of 2011.

Considering myself being trapped “somewhere”, I would say this year is fairly fruitful, with a few notable milestones achieved! Maybe I’m just deeply loved by the “higher beings”.

Looking back since day 1 of 2011, my look-like boring life simply revolves around work, work and more work. But trust me, the look-like boring life is actually quite adventurous and it was a year of acquisition. Acquisition of knowledge, skills and network! And I believe there’s more to come in 2012, I’m really looking forward to it!

Frankly, and knowing myself, I got a tendency to place work as top priority ahead of most things, and unfortunately, some friends were neglected because of it. Sometimes I feel a bit bad, so if you happen to receive my call out of the blue, don’t worry, I’m not in MLM business, I don’t have any products to market, it’s just a courteous call to catch up ;)

For 2011:

Milestones achieved:

1. Venturing Overseas

- A co-production with Sweden, and more to come in 2012.

2. Produced my 1^st Mandarin Feature Film, Red Numbers

- Now it’s preparing for its release in 2012.

3. Entrepreneurship

- Won the Shell LiveWIRE Merit Award.

Resolution for 2012:

1. A Healthy Lifestyle (Brought over from 2011)

- Lack of regular exercise and unhealthy eating habits have killed my fitness! Missed those days when I could easily get Gold for IPPT.

2. Blood Donation (Brought over from 2011)

- Wanted to donate blood, but I’m a bit afraid of the needle.

3. Direct my 1^st Feature Film (Brought over from 2011)

- As much as I would want to, but this year and next year won’t be possible. Mainly because I’m trapped in “somewhere”, and I would need to spend more time on business development rather than productions.

4. Venturing Overseas

- Bigger and more profiting ventures!

5. Expansion Plan

- Expand the business!

6. Entrepreneurship

- Participate and win more entrepreneurship awards!

Wishes for 2012:

1. Good health for family and friends.

2. Good health for myself.

I really yearn for a fruitful year ahead! (Which I foresee it to be!)

So I’ll gain more experiences which knowledge can’t give, and eventually have a fatter pocket by the end of 2012!

Mission Impossible

How awesome would it be if we can gorge on all delicacies available on earth, eat as much as we want, but without expanding horizontally? Sounds like mission impossible, but indeed… it’s impossible.

Recently, I’m facing huge temptations everywhere! I am having constant craving all the time, especially in the middle of the night, and all sorts of scrumptious delicacies start surfacing. Right now I’m thinking of Vietnamese cold noodles and drip-coffee from Vietlang at Art House! Owning a restaurant is really the best deal for me, I guess, haha! And maybe I should also find a wife that we both enjoy eating as much as we love each other, so one day we shall tour the world together to satisfy our taste buds!

心血来潮

偶尔心血来潮，想用中文写部落。

老实说，好像已经有一段日子没有真正用中文来写部落，感觉上是有点生疏。回忆起，那些埋头苦写中文剧本的日子虽已成为“过去式”，但回想起来，至今依然记忆犹新。创作过程中的酸甜苦辣，也算别有一番体会，还不错啦。过去编写的一些电视/电影作品包括：《妙手铁厨》《悔意》《青涩部落格》《不由自主》《动物小天地》《甘榜情》《红字》等等。辛苦是一定会，但我倒是挺享受整个创作和编剧过程的，因此也就乐此不疲了。

其实，我对创作的热忱依然不减，但随时光渐渐消逝，我也慢慢认清自己的终极理想，企业家。自从设立Supernova Media之后，就根本没再写剧本，时间全耗在生意上了。若是巧遇好题材，打死我都要凑上一脚！哈哈。

Life has been awesome for me.

Ever since I started my company, nothing beats being your own boss. I can go up, down, left and right as when I want, I don’t have to be accountable to anyone (of course I’m responsible to my clients and investors), it’s just one word – AWESOME!

Yesterday, it was the Shell LiveWIRE Awards Presentation 2011, and it was an honor to be presented with the Merit Award from Mr Teo Ser Luck, Minister of State for Trade and Industry. Minister Teo is extremely friendly, and it was great talking to him! Here are a few preview pictures! I will post more pictures once I receive more pictures from the organisers!

Sweet taste of VICTORY

The sweet taste of victory brought a sensational thrill.

Here are a few things worth mentioning:

1) “Kjell’s Cooking Adventure” has began production, with its first stop in Singapore, then filming across SEA. The working experience with Swedes team is definitely positive, and they’re nice and friendly to work with. Here's some pictures!

2) “Plastic Fantastic” is another Sweden production which we are involved. It’s another memorable experience. Here's some stills!

3) I’m glad to pull it through all the way to the finals of Shell LiveWIRE Entrepreneur Award 2011. The award presentation is on 18^th November 2011. Let’s hope for some good news then!

4) Fighting against all odds. I managed to clinch and taste victory on some issues that many would say “Suck thumb”. I don’t believe in sucking thumb too often. Oh well, such unique “major achievements” brought much sense of satisfaction, and definitely some cheap thrills!

Last week was hell for me…

I was down with sickness and on antibiotics for the entire week, thanks god I have recovered, the first few days were torturing! Visiting an orthopedic on the 14^th November, hope to cure all my bony problems once and for all, sometimes it can be quite nuisance to bear with those sores and occasional pain.

Oh well, life has been fairly good to me, thanks!

“Suck Thumb”, what’s there to suck?

I have been frequently hearing this 2 words “Suck Thumb” from friends, especially from younger peers nowadays.

Problem with myself…

When a problem arises and it can’t be resolved, some would say “Suck Thumb”, but i simply can’t agree with it and force myself to “Suck Thumb”. I never believed in sucking thumb, that’s the problem. Finding solution should be the priority rather than sucking thumb.

Am I being over confident? Or being too stubborn?

Road less Travelled.

Road less Travelled.

Spoken to a few successful businessmen recently, a simple conversation over a nice cup of coffee actually evokes and unleashes endless flow of thoughts and ideas. I’m glad to take the road less travelled. It’s the right time when there’s nothing to lose.

With a bit of immunity over fear, I seldom feel threaten or should I say; I am over confident? It’s not the first time a person tells me that I’m quite ambitious – another one just commented.

While having dinner I was sharing my “fearless” symptoms with this friend of mine, and the answer given was – I probably have brain damage... part of the brain malfunctioned and I wasn’t able to sense and relate to fear, the following day, my friend posted this article on my wall: http://online.wsj.com/article/0,,SB112190164023291519,00.html

Oh well, pretty true.

Recently months, I have been reading a friend’s blog, a friend that left an obvious footprint in my life. I would say, 70-80% of the posts are negative and it really saddens me. The least I could do – send a SMS or email to show moral and mental support, that’s the minimal, if required, I’ll try to give physical support if within my circle of competency. I really wonder why some people are so emotional? I sincerely hope this friend of mine is coping well. And I really wonder how come some people are just so emotional? Maybe I can’t feel it as I’m less emotional…

To be frank, there’s nothing much to complain for my life, everyone is working towards a different goal in life, no point comparing or envy over certain kind of lifestyle, as long your goals are met, it’s an achievement. Though I have nothing much to complain except being willingly trapped in “somewhere”, but no choice. There are times when the brain is clogging and just mere seconds to a tremendous explosion, but luckily it’s controlled and easily suppressed by my logical brain and eventually vanished after one or two days. Generally life is quite good, no complains and I’m quite happy, most importantly is to enjoy what you do, and I really enjoy what I’m doing.

Finger crossed and if everything goes well, my first social enterprise should be up this year to serve a good social cause ;)

Immunization

Immunization of life makes the world a better place.

Some might agree, some disagree, but it doesn’t matter since everyone has their own set of beliefs and values.

Being immune to life, you feel less emotion, pain, agony and trouble. When situation doesn’t favor you, no point pondering over it since it’s about problem solving, as long as the solutions are legal, ethical and doesn’t cause death, what’s the big deal? But being immune to life also means that you can’t feel much joy and happiness…

Weeks ago, I was trapped in a situation that might jeopardize my career and life, thanks god it was nicely resolved. God has been good to me :)

Talking about career, my appetite has grown at least ten folds since 2007 when I first stepped into the media industry. Thanks to the overwhelming growth of appetite, I am constantly realizing the the practicality and realism of the world and human characters; it helps me to know myself

It has been 3 weeks since I shaved bald, now I am waiting for my hair to grow; it’s a bit short right now, but words can’t describe my feeling, it’s good and bad, it’s good especially when I am heading for a jog, I feel so “light”, it’s bad because I was forced to shave bald, haha.

Black & White and shades of Grey. Plus updates…

When I was in secondary school, I only knew what was black and white, which is right or wrong, the word grey doesn’t appear in my dictionary at all.

When I was promoted to tertiary education, some hues of grey start appearing, it just came by naturally when I am stuck in certain situations that requires a bit of creativity and it sort of unleashes my survival instinct to seek shelter in the grey area to reorganize my strategy for another battle, either for survival or for a purpose.

I have concluded its part and parcel of life to recognize the existence of Grey area. Perhaps due to the environment I am stuck in (Army), I realized the people here, though around my age, slightly younger, they seem pretty innocent. I felt as if I had travelled back to secondary school via a time machine, where simple conversation existed, where complication lies only in BGR, education, homework, etc, and where students tend to be easily intimidated by verbal threats or situations which I don’t foresee any potential danger.

Anyway, dear Suzuki IGNIS had been scraped due to aging that leads to constant vehicle breakdown and creating “damage” to my wallet. It has served me for more than a year since I started driving it. It has accompanied me throughout the past one year plus, especially during hectic production period where I am running mad around in tiny Singapore, sometimes travelling a few hours a day for meetings, errands, or whatsoever. Now I start to miss it… For now I shall resume to my BMW, bus, mrt and walk, but to be frank, I kind of can’t get used to travelling in public transport, it’s a waste of time and I can’t control my timing. Anyway, I have aimed for another car already; will get it once I have finalized my “direction”.

Last few days before it was scraped – At Changi Airport with my buddies.

Last week, it was our dear He Jie pre-birthday celebration. They knew I was booking out and treated me to a feast at a steamboat restaurant, so kind of them. Before that, we had a meeting at a very nice place with 3 others industry mates from the radio broadcast side at Sky Lounge, the scenery was beautiful, I was so indulge in it that I forgot to take a picture before leaving, but no worries, I will be back. After munching, we drove to Serangoon Nex for a nice cup of frappe at teadot.

Every weekend will be packed with meetings, writing proposals, translations, replying emails, settling accounts, bathing my dog, etc. This seems to become my usual protocol for the weekend. From Friday till Sunday afternoon, I have 2 meetings on Friday evening, 4 meetings on Saturday and 3 meetings on Sunday, and out of the 9 meetings, only 2 are non-work related.

Since 2005, every year my New Year resolution was to make a movie, and yes, mission accomplished and it’s 2011. I felt a sense of achievement, 2010 and 2011 was indeed a fruitful year for me, and I am sure there are more to come in near future.

Browsing back into the past, I am seriously a damn lucky guy.

I met great mentors along the way who gave me tips and pointers in creative, business, finance, management, or interpersonal relationship skills. With their guidance, I sort of took the easier route with fewer booby traps, so I didn’t have to learn from the hard way, eventually advancing at a much faster rate. I realized that, as long as you lower your ego and seek guidance, most will teach you and impart you with valuable skills that will benefit you for eternity.

Thanks god that I am blessed with good people around me.

Paraphrasing

Sometimes during a simple conversation or email, situations might turn ugly or unfriendly if not creatively handled. It’s tricky when handling clients or investors with higher ego, but at the end of the day, it’s about paraphrasing and packaging those pricking words into a pleasant and friendly sentence which makes their listening comfortable, in short, to please their ears. Oh well, primarily to achieve the objectives and goals of the conversation or email? Secondly, maintaining good working relationship for future collaborations which Is unpredictable?

I love this quote which I heard from an American: “Business is still business, no point burning bridges, it’s just business after all”.

When situations are beyond our ability to control and it’s inevitable to offend someone, I would say just go ahead, but remember to safeguard your reputation. It’s better to have certain level of flexibility in life, in short, high EQ.

Was clearing some junks in my old laptop as i am switching over to another laptop.

I saw some old pictures taken with some friends, saw some videos which brought back some nice memories, and i realized something... i have been neglecting some friends... some friends whom i used to cherish a lot...

Somehow i have this very bad habit, once i am engrossed or obsessed with work, rather trying to accomplish certain things, i have a tendency to neglect friends and things happening around me. My brain sort of switch over to "Work Mode" and whatever not related to work will just be kept out of my mind, or hidden secretly somewhere in my "HDD", only accessible when my "Work Mode" is switched off.

Oh well, being someone fairly rationale, 80% logical and 20% illogical, somehow my emotional side does managed to kick off, thus those precious memories were extracted from my "HDD".So i decided to email some friends who i have not contacted for a while, hopefully they still remember me.

This is a bad habit which i am trying to change.

My new project

I have been quite busy, currently in pre-pro for an upcoming local black comedy/action feature film scheduled to start principal photography around mid-april. Now we are waiting for shifu to give us an auspicious date to start filming.

BUT!!!

Now I am stuck in a dilemma to choose which camera to purchase for production, there are pros and cons for all 3 options.

My current options are Sony FS3, Panasonic AF102 or Canon Mark 2 5D, along with 3^rd party direct-to-disk recorder. I had a long meeting with a local expert from filmmall, his suggestion was Panasonic AF102 with Wafian Recorder, or another 3^rd party direct-to-disk recorder which I forgotten the name (Uncompressed HD).

The 5th floor, or 50th floor?

Every single year, we brave different obstacles along the journey of our life, exploring or creating opportunities along the way (at least for me), hoping each moving window leads to a new doorway, or at least elevate you to a new height.

A good friend once shared with me.
“When you are standing at the 5th floor, feeling tired after all the hard work and climbing, feeling extremely satisfied and overjoyed, you start praising the nice view which allows you to see the neighboring architecture. But when you endured and reached the 50th floor, the vast scenery makes a big different, a new horizon, much nicer, more pleasant, seeing the big picture painted with nice oceans and greeneries; a fantastic view where it’s impossible to enjoy or visualize from the 5th floor. Nothing comes easy, no shortcut, but working smart and hard. “

How long it takes to reach the 50th floor?
I guess it varies.

Some might take 10 years? (Step by step, hard sweat throughout)
Some 5 years? (Strategic guidance along the way, working smart)
Some 1 year? (Helicopter??)

So it voices down.
Are you satisfied with the 5th floor?
Or the 50th floor?
Or even higher.

But ultimately, enjoying the climbing process is most important.

A new journey unveiled.

Within seconds after countdown, 2010 had become past tense.

Reminiscing the past, 2010 was a year of realization, seeking of directions, enlightenment, and taking new steps forward.

Since schooling days, I have always been a lucky chap, whenever I am seeking for enlightenment; someone will somehow appear from somewhere and lead me towards that direction, same for 2010.

So here are my wishes + resolutions for 2011:
1) Establish Silver Media Group
2) Produce/Write a film (Since 2005, expired and renewed)
3) More performances
4) Compose and write more songs
5) Setup a social enterprise (Since 2009, expired and renewed)
6) Spend more time with family and friends

Busy busy busy.

Last Week:

Ever since I decided to halt my production career, I realized I am still as busy (Not as tiring as compared to production work), less of physical stress but more of mental stress, but I really enjoyed it! But timing had became more flexible, more in control of my own time, more time to meet up with friends.

Perhaps it’s just me; a business guy trying real hard to be creative, oh well, I learnt my lessons, haha, I guess creative jobs isn’t my cup of tea. Nevertheless, I still have a good amount of portfolio under my belt where I handled the creative aspects, such as scriptwriting, camera work and editing!

Anyway, I am more into finance now, the media side. Last week was packed with meetings, from Canada Media Partnering, Asia Television Forum, Individual meetings, etc. My brain juice was almost squeezed to dryness! But I enjoyed it!

This week:

Had a few usual meetings this week! Closed a deal, hopefully it takes place next year, and one of my dreams will be fulfilled.

Something worth mentioning, a friend of mine came back from Australia and we had a “catch up” session! It was 3-4 years back then since I last saw her. Time really flies. Everyone has their own lifestyle now.

Other than that, I am quite pissed off by this irresponsible/unprofessional fella who keeps on avoiding my phone call, sms, and emails as he knew I was “chasing” payment from him. 5 months had passed and I have yet received my payment for a service provided. Oh well, If there is no explanation heard from him, i might just have to settle it myself (Perhaps through our legal system). Some people are just like this, avoiding responsibility, one word: unethical.

Few days back, I was shocked when I received news of an industry friend had passed away; he was in his prime years, running a production company that is doing quite well. And indeed, it’s true and he had left. I was just talking to him over the phone 2 weeks ago, and it’s so sudden.

I was at his wake and the feeling isn’t right.

Whenever friends or relative had passed away, the feeling is just weird.

Life is indeed fragile and vulnerable.

Sometimes it makes me ponder.

What if I leave the world tomorrow?

祸不单行的一天

人有三衰六旺；三衰中的“运衰”往往是不请自来。

今天我因此接二连三的碰上倒霉的事情发生。

第一件

早上起来，约了朋友吃早餐，要去取车时却发现前座车窗出现裂痕。奇怪了，这裂痕到底什么时候出现的？是我的疏忽所造成的吗？但印象中我好像没有与任何东西碰撞过。算了，只好接受实事，顶多也只是浪费一些时间去车房更换车窗。今天是星期天，车厂应该没营业，只好明天才去。

第二件

这时，我上车准备启动引擎，但无论怎么转动车钥匙，这个引擎就是纹丝不动，气死我了。经过检查之后，估计是车的电池没电了，需要找另外一辆车来借电才可以启动引擎。算了，打电话通知朋友说早餐约会取消，下次再另做补偿。

第三件

上午时分，幸亏叔叔到访做客，幸亏他也开车，这下可好了，终于可以借电了。借电之后，因为电池水不足，只好驾车到油站购买。所以呢，我就开车到附近的邮站，买了电池水，添加之后，原以为所有问题都迎刃而解了，但是意想不到的事情发生了。这时车门忽然反锁，钥匙还插在里面，糟糕了，不论尝试几遍，车门依然无法打开。幸亏，我脑筋急转，想起家中还有第二把车钥匙，这下可好了，叔叔立刻回家帮我拿钥匙，没办法，我唯一能做的，就是耐心等待咯。苦等之后，叔叔终于把钥匙带来了，车的问题也解决了。

第四件

傍晚时分，我到朋友家讨论些事情，开晚会回家途中到附近的商场替母亲购物，进入停车场之后因为必须使用Cashcard，而我的Cashcard放在破包中。于是，我四处寻找皮包，但就是不见踪影，我心想会不会落在朋友的家了？打电话向朋友确认之后，皮包确实落在这位朋友的家。无奈之下，折返朋友的家，索取皮包之后，再次返回该商场。两个字；健忘。

这一整天下来，光是“应酬”这些衰事就足以让我心烦了。

所以为了缓解烦躁的心情，最理想的解决方案，就是通过满足口腹之欲来抵消心中的无名火。喝杯香浓的咖啡，吃块清甜的蛋糕，买片喜剧的电影，这无名火也慢慢被浇熄了，哈哈。

乐得清闲的日子

最近卸下了制作和创作的工作，暂时也不打算接任何新的项目，感觉上来来去去不就周转在制作和创作的范围内，一点新意都没有，开始厌倦了。虽然少了固定的收入，但很庆幸，我从没后悔做这个决定。放心啦，我做事情一定会经过慎重的考量才作出判断和决定，绝非那种意气用事之辈或者和金钱过不去。之前，因为工作繁忙导致脾气有点暴躁，或者说情绪化，但放心，我从来不随便骂人或乱发脾气。岔开话题，约三年前，我曾经因为情绪化的问题，错失一个良机，为此深感懊悔，从此立下重誓不再重犯。

回规正题，“失业”之后，并不代表我荒废生活，好吃懒做，没继续打拼。从另外一个角度观看，我只不过转换一下跑道，尝试一下新的领域，而这工作也和娱乐圈紧紧相连。这份工作很清闲，时间很自由，不用四处奔波或赶拍东西，也无需绞尽脑汁的撰写文稿，最重要的是；我觉得更有满足感！哈哈！

总之我最近比较有空！想约我喝茶聊天，吃饭逛街，或者唱歌看戏，不论什么活动，只要不用我送上性命，我都乐意奉陪到底，就怕你不约我罢了～

我明早还约了信权老哥打羽毛球，运动一下身心，然后一起去吃顿午餐，聊一聊天，说说是非，享受一下悠闲的日子。下午，需要送车子去整修玻璃，到了傍晚，可能会和另外一位叔叔碰面谈些公事，但还不确定。如果约会取消，那我又“乐得清闲”了，可能拿本书到咖啡馆尽情赏阅一番，哈哈。

最近忙着策划一些事情，虽然劳心费神，还撞了一头灰，但依然乐此不疲！
有句老掉牙的话：“年轻就是本钱”果然没错，我也深信不疑~

很多朋友常叫我和他们分享自己的生活背景，但我总喜欢扯开话题，避而不谈。其实，并非我不愿意和大家分享，只不过我更想知道你们的生活背景，想多了解你们。前几天，有一位朋友教会了我一样东西，也就是人与人之间的感情升华取自于你如何融入对方的生活，而要融入对方的生活里头，那你就必须让对方知道你的生活背景。

所以今天我就和大家分享一些关于我的事情吧。

说到我的理念，有一句话一直浮现在我脑海中，就是这番话：“少壮不努力，老大徒伤悲”，我在剧本中都重复使用了好几次，所以归根而言，未来成败归朔于少时勤耕。宁可虚度青春，殃及晚年？还是劳其青春，安享晚年？

现实生活中参杂很多有趣的人，可以简单的归类为两组：正面教材和反面教材。有几个朋友给了我一些生活上的正面启发，例如，为了热忱而放弃高职高薪的媒体同行，为了音乐创作而放弃高薪的音乐人，热衷于文学创作而苦尽半百的创作人，勇于接受挑战而迈向成功的教练，永不言败而勇于追求理想的艺人，等等。这些人都属于正面教材，有些很成功，有些在挣扎，但我相信那些还在挣扎的，他们迟早有一天会熬出头，他们需要的就是一个拼出头的机会！其中有一个好朋友曾经和我分享，说道：“和笨的人混在一起，你迟早变笨！和成功的人混在一起，如果你懂得海纳百川，吸收所长，那成功迟早莅临你门下！”。

当然也有反面教材！这些人我就不说了！总之，我在他们的身上看到了失败，看到了颓废和混浊不清的未来，这些人胸无大志，怨天尤人，怎么成功？这种人还是避而远之，少接触为妙。

回顾这几年，刚出道的时候，简直是挫折重重，被骗过钱，被骗过剧本，被骗过信任，被骗过希望，直差没女人把我骗走罢了~ 哈哈。但是，一次的失败不应该成为你终身的绊脚石，反而应该幻化成你追求成功的勇气和毅力。每当我阅读新闻时，看到人家因为压力，或者失败，而摇身一变成为“空中超人”的时候，我感到心寒！到底有什么问题能比生命更重要？最近我一个导演朋友嬉皮笑脸的说了一句话：“发生问题了啊？什么问题？有出人命吗？没有出人命就是没有问题咯~ ”。思索片刻，这话也有一番道理！

说到趣事，最近我好朋友质问我一句话：“你为什么不交女朋友？你是同志啊？喜欢男的？告诉我嘞，我很开放的！”哈哈哈，我立刻捧腹大笑，回复道：“绝对不是！”。我绝对不是那种随便乱交女朋友的人，更不是看到美女就立刻上前问她：“你能做我女朋友吗？”！可能我比较死板吧。最近李光耀资政的妻子过逝，他们的婚姻长达63年之久，让我很是敬佩，更是尊重！现在的青年，别说63年了，连63天都挨不过去！唉．．．我认为，我要找的不是一个拿来填补空缺的临时女友！我要的是一个可以共度余生的伊人。虽然感觉上好像有点童话故事？但我还是坚信：宁缺勿滥。

其实我性格是属于比较腼腆的类型，我很喜欢平静，不太喜欢和人交流，可以说是看似外向，但其实很内向。忆述起我中学时期，记得当时我很安静，午餐时间总是一个人度过，社交圈子很小，来来去去那几位羽毛球的死党罢了，班上好像没任何好朋友，但当时的我就喜欢一个人度过，也没觉得任何不妥。但长大之后，很多时候身不由己，为了工作还是得应酬一些人，所以我练就成一身社交技巧，很容易就能融入人群。可能我是怪胎吧？到现在我还是很喜欢一个人的时候，我喜欢一个人到Ehub的Coffeebean喝杯咖啡，享受时光。如果你有在Ehub，你不妨到Coffeebean看看，你可能会碰上我！回想起来，第一个影响我一生的人就是我羽球教练了，是他教会了我很多做人的道理，包括人与人之间的微妙关系，也是他托人帮我安排进入新传媒实习，那时候是2007年，不知不觉已经三年了，我到现在还时常和教练保持联络，有空就去打打球，喝杯饮料，吃点东西，等等。记得当时我报名了编剧训练班，教练是非常的支持，还要赞助我去上第二期的高级编剧训练班，我很感激。

再来就是另外一位大恩人，就是我恩师许声亮，他给了我很多机会，真的很多，也教会了很多人与人之间的复杂关，如何分析和处理一些人性的东西，还带我出国增广见闻，介绍很多人给我认识。我记得他说过一句话，很讲义气的一句话，他说：“永杰你听好，我会养你，如果你没钱的时候，找我，我会帮你！”。声亮是一位性情中人，我相信他绝对会守诺言，但我也不至于沦落到需要他“供养”的一天！做人要有志气才对。

我这个人从不记仇的，如果我讨厌一个人，只要过几天火一消就没事了。但只有一个人，唯一的一个人，他让我既讨厌又憎恨，巴不得想整死他，怨气到现在都还没消。我甚至对自己承诺，如果有一天我他在我之下，我必定让他没好日子过，玩残他。我知道这种心态很不对，但对他的怨恨始终没办法驱除！希望时间能让我减轻对他的痛恨。

最后一件事，就是和大家分享我目前的心愿：
1）出书（已经想到故事了）
2）做生意
3）每天都开心
4）拍电影（终极愿望）
5）身体健康

希望我尽早如愿以偿。

这个星期天，我有一位好友要结婚了！这位老友和我同一天生日，比我年长24岁，他是一个很有趣的人，我们一见如故，什么都能聊，他嘴巴虽然坏了点，但心肠还是很善良的。但这几年下来，真的看到岁月在他身上留下了痕迹，唉．．．人始终还是会老．．．

数个星期前，我去了趟印尼（地名我忘了）。

在这里再次要感谢司马哎呀，他一有“好慷”绝不会少了我！这次他又介绍我去做一个新的美食节目！我实在是心存感激！忆述起2008那一年，哎呀知道我入行心切，但缺乏制作经验，或者说，制作经验相等于零，所以根本没人愿意聘请，于是哎呀便替我牵线去做节目。有了一次经验，往后的机会开始接踵而来，不怕没节目做了。哎呀在本地音乐圈那边颇有份量，希望他日后能推荐我去做音乐！

最近两个星期忙得我晕头转向，但幸亏，我把“ 忙里偷闲”这个绝活练得炉火纯青！

首先，很感谢司马哎呀邀请我去看巫启贤的演唱会。托哎呀的福，当晚回顾了很多首耳熟能详的经典歌曲，其中有些让我印象深刻，因为小时候曾听过，勾起了童年的部分回忆。当晚与哎呀的同行的也包括了我当年做妙手铁厨时的导演，郑光辉。

我还有一个儿童节目，目前已经拍摄完毕了，在剪接的阶段，会在九月份播出，到时再向大家透露具体的详情！

上个星期，我到赞助商提供的摄影棚拍了舞台剧的宣传照。这并非一般摄影棚的照相，而是一种称之为“光述影”的拍照方式，听起来满新鲜吧？拍出来的照片有巴黎油画的感觉，也很立体化，这种摄影技巧在新加坡应该较为少见。等我拿到照片后再上载给与大家分享。

最近发生了一个小事件，让我深深感觉到现代的年轻人实在严重缺乏责任感！他们面对责任的方式就是逃避，然后玩失踪！打电话不接，发简讯不回，好像人间蒸发似的，简直受不了，我被气的一肚子火。

向大家汇报一下，最近我家里新添了一位家庭成员，他的名字叫Quinn！

I went to watch The Full Monty last week at the Drama Centre, and it was great, 100% entertaining, with good casts and a tight story plot that catches the audience’s attention. Overall, I quite like it!

The finale was quite unexpected; I mean ultimately, audiences will be curious how the full monty will end up? How are they gonna strip? At least for me! And I will say, the strip at the finale was really beautifully crafted and designed, they really did the “full monty”, but in an unexpected way. Great!

《孟买之行与近日概况》

好久没登入了！

前几个星期，我到了印度的孟买谈关于买卖片子的事情，唉可惜，不太成功，但没关系，也总算见识到当地的文化与风俗。

在孟买的时候，我体验到当地人的热情，就如，在路上行驶时，每当司机不确定行驶路线的时候，他只要马上把车停去路旁，拉下车窗，把头探出去问路，很奇怪，马上就会出现一个好心的路人甲即刻给予协助，哈哈，就算是我从酒店出门，找不到地方的时候，只要随便问问身旁的人，他们马上就会给我指示，保证能到达目的地。我记得，在中国的时候，好几次找不到路，想找个人问路，不料，才刚靠近那个人，他马上就箭步般闪人了，我都还来不及开口，哈哈哈。

以整体而言，孟买的人民，心地都还蛮善良的，还有，它们家庭的凝聚力也挺深的，时常都可以看到一家大小出动，在外头游逛，这点在新加坡就比较少见了。

1）万佛堂的大型筹款舞台剧《何处一盏灯》已经确定在9月17，18和19日公演，地点已经敲定了，所以呢，迟些日子会把宣传网站衔接到这里，到时也会向大家汇报更多详情，所以记得要支持！

２）马来西亚电视剧《甘榜情缘》已经筹备的差不多了，快要开机了！现在得准备新的故事方案，筹拍新的电视剧了。这部电视剧也会在新加坡播放。

３）我有位好朋友专门经营网上服装店，售卖哪些大型尺码的衣服，她人非常亲切，叫Erica。我们决定做一个音乐录像来玩玩，中英文版本，一来能起到宣传性的作用，二来也能让大家开心一番。这是她网上服装店的衔接：Http://www.bab.com.sg

Recently, there were both good and bad things surrounding me, I believe those “bad things” are some valuable lessons planted by the almighty one above. I am accepting it. Learn and grow from there. Since I never like to ponder and dwell over “bad things”, thus I shall not mention it and I shall update the good ones!

Few days ago, I was invited to sit in the panel of judges for Youth Art Festival 2010, organized by Red Cross; I was one of the judges for Drama Category. I was surprised that they actually entrusted me with “that responsibility” despite my age as I am just few years older than those participant, and I really felt quite honored.

I also read a book recently, title: “Letters to Sam” by Daniel Gottlieb. Quite an inspiring book, that is very true and realistic, I could felt the feelings written in the book.

《大幸中的不幸！》

大幸的是，年龄终于破二十了，展开新的人生旅程了！

不幸的是，感觉自己好像苍老了许多，尤其是这几个月！

最近有几句“旁白”不停在我脑袋里周旋，例如：“哇唠，Alvin你很曹老嘞！”，“你很Uncle嘞！”，“Alvin，我以为你二十多岁了啦？”。最可悲的是；人家竟然说我的兄弟Jae看起来比我年轻！哇尻！ Jae比我大五岁咯！我当场快晕了！简直是晴天霹雳！算了，你们知道自己是谁，不用我指名点姓了吧，哈哈！

前天才刚从吉隆坡回来。此行是因为朋友邀请我到一个度假村Sepang Goldcoast游玩。我所入住的是一间有海景的别墅，景色非常优美，非常有大自然的感觉。其实，这个度假村是还没开放给公众的，还在兴建当中；只是我有幸被邀请去游玩罢了 :)

Mio姐从日本买了药膏和维他命丸送给我！药膏的英文名称叫Differin，好像是能消灭和控制青春痘生长的药膏！那些维他命丸我就不太清楚了，好像对护肤也有巨大的帮助，我太感动了！以后就靠她传授不老秘诀和保养秘方了，她可是医生哦，哈哈哈！不说你不知，她的外表与实际年龄差异太大了，根本难以置信，保养的太好了！其实，她已经是一个九岁孩子的母亲了，真的是名副其实的辣妈！

真搞不懂为什么今晚会睡不着！
我从半夜凌晨开始，便在床上翻滚，更本无法入眠。
到了现在，太阳都快升起了，我还是无法入睡！可够折腾的了！

算了，我决定别睡了，干脆起床写写部落格吧，总好过把时间浪费掉。

转眼间已经迈入2010年了！
时间过得真快！

回顾这一年所发生的事情，不论心灵上的喜怒哀乐，或者事业上的成败，
归根而言，也算是学习了如何经营人生，积累一些人生经验。

很遗憾，我的电影梦想没达成，没实现，落空了，这点我非常失望。
我很渴望一部电影作品，一部能够登上各大电影院线的大荧幕作品，
可惜去年没如愿以偿，感慨收场，希望今年能达成。

新的一年里头，
我期盼以下的愿望和目标能够逐一实现：
1）家人身体健康
2）朋友们生活愉快
3）最起码有一部电影作品
4）最起码创作三首歌曲
5）海外发展顺利
6）赚更多更多的钱
7）把吉他和歌艺提升到专业境界
8）顺利考获驾照（二月初）
9）读多些书
10）跨入舞台界

写了那么多愿望与目标，
到底能不能实现呢？

相信在某些人眼中，它们会觉得我是空口白话，或者说，很不切实际。
放心啦，我绝对明白“实际”的定义是什么。
但我还是相信自己。相信自己能达成这些目标。

Recently, i started playing badminton more often, targeting at least twice or thrice a week. I came to a point of realization, other than badminton; I can’t really play other sports. I never like soccer or basketball. Badminton fills me with more excitement and enjoyment.

Lastly, i am listing music as one of my main career option rather than a pastime hobby. If there are any “Lobang” or opportunities out there, please drop me a sms or email to kindly inform me? 对不起啊，好久没更新部落格了！

可能最近生活乏味，或者说太懒了，整个人提不起劲，没什么心思写部落格，加上前些日子又被病魔缠身，身心都被折腾了，但放心，现在开始康复了，感觉舒服多了，昨天还有体力去看慈善义演呢！待会下午我还打算去朋友的烧烤会呢！晚上也可能替好兄弟补庆生日！

最近，我所编写的艺术影片《悔意》终于“出街”了！这部影片由沈炜俊，曾诗梅和林丽云主演，据闻，这部片会在年底以DVD发行，到时就请大家支持了！

别小看他，他的“废话”可媲美国家级水平噢：

之前消失了快三个星期，因为到中国发展去了，而且费用均由许声亮老师包办。到了中国后，发现哪里的影视市场倒是挺蓬勃的，不会封闭，竞争也蛮激烈的。我在中国期间，承蒙老师的照顾和爱戴，吃喝玩乐，样样齐全，老师也介绍了很多人给我认识，替我扩展人脉，制造机会，所以不久的将来，我会有一部中国电视剧作品，名字终于可以出现在中国的银幕上了！所以此行可谓受益不浅，没白费了。

原本在中国拍了一些照片，但乌龙的我却把相机遗留在酒店了！幸亏老师后来替我找回了，所以照片只好等到下次拿回相机后才能上载与大家分享了！暂时就凭我的文字幻想一下吧！

这次到中国，我去了广州，福州，湄洲，东莞和香港。此行给我留下最深刻印象的地方是东莞。因为我发现哪里的贫富落差蛮大的，好比南北两极的庞大距离，有钱人特别富裕，穷人家特别贫苦。我曾经在街上目睹一户穷人家为了人民币一元而大吵大闹，同时体验到富裕人家是如何挥霍，真的是花钱如流水，每餐也少不了大鱼大肉，空余时间还能打羽毛球呢（因为其中一位导演拉我去打羽毛球）！在湄洲的时候，经老师的介绍我认识了何姐，她的女儿（才三岁）真的好可爱哦！真希望能把她打包带回来新加坡！

到了香港也和杜Sir（杜国威老师）见面吃宵夜，听他分享了很多“故事”，感触颇多的。原本在香港的时候想和一些朋友碰面叙旧的，可惜时间紧迫，未能赴约，但不怕，下次总有机会！

说到音乐剧，我也开始写音乐舞台剧了！算是我的处女作，是Little Red Shop的舞台剧项目。关于内容方面暂时就不便透露了！但肯定会是个惊喜！

音乐创作方面，早前所作词的三首歌，已经弄好了，以下有一段录像供大家鉴赏。其中《守护》和《和平的微笑》是我所作词的，其余摇滚式的潮州歌曲均是蔡翰荣老师的作品：

最近一口气为三首歌曲写了歌词！名副其实的晋身为作词人！

我所作词的三首歌曲分别为《没有钱》，《和平的微笑》和《守护》，现在处于混音阶段，估计这几天内就会完成了。大家放心，到时我会弄一个Demo版本，以新媒体的方式上载给大家鉴听，哈哈！希望到时不会令大家失望！如无意外，这三首歌曲也会随某电影（暂时不便透露）的原声带推出，哈哈哈。

有一件事情更让我兴奋！

我将替北京电视剧《毕业后的日子》的主题曲和片尾曲作词。这是我刚接手的工作，哈哈哈，希望这个星期之内能完成创作，这部电视剧的主题曲叫做《毕业》，片尾曲则叫做《感动人生》，其实这片尾曲的名称与其制作公司的名称相同，哈哈哈。对了，稍微提一下，这部电视剧《毕业后的日子》也是许声亮老师的作品，目前在北京赶拍，其实这两首歌曲也是他推荐给我写的，不然也没这个机会，我很感激他，哈哈哈哈。所以在这里也稍微宣传一下,你可以到:http://news.xinmin.cn/rollnews/2009/08/29/2459176.html

《青涩部落格 2》也在紧锣密鼓的筹备当中，估计十月就开拍了！对了，到时可能在资料搜集方面须要大家的协助，如果有需要的话，我会把求救的Post给Post上来，希望大家能伸出援手，提供一些宝贵资料，让我把最写实的一面带给观众，哈哈哈哈。

终极理想，电影创作。

如果事情一帆风顺的话，到了明年六月份，估计会有两部我的电影作品上映（希望吧）。如果没有两部，最起码也好歹给我一部吗，总好过零，什么都没有！目前，电影的名称仍不便透露，因为可能触犯公司利益，等对外宣布后，我再逐一向大家汇报吧，哈哈哈！

早起的鸟儿饿肚子！

今天，差不多8.00am就起身了，感觉身体不太舒服，稍微有点偏头疼，喉咙也发痒，可没办法啦，眼前还有事务，必须去360公司参与《青涩部落格 2》的制作会议。制作会议从11.30am开到了2.30pm，讨论了许多有趣的课题，也算“圆满落幕”啦，但其实今天只不过是第一场（会议），接下来估计还会有第二场，第三场，第四场吧，哈哈哈。

到了中午，天气是热死人了，受不了，受不了，我简直筋疲力尽了，但没办法，还得去Bugis处理一些发行上的事情，累死人了。

重点是... 我的早餐和午餐都还没吃！饿死我了！整个肚子是空的！饿死我了！
谁说早起的鸟儿有虫吃？我今天就很早起身，可什么东西都没吃！
我一想到Art House旁边的越南餐馆Vietlang，马上口水直流，只差口水没溅到身旁的人罢了，哈哈哈。

最近好久没运动了，所以今晚我虽然人不太舒服，但还是决定去打羽毛球，流点汗也好，不然继续吃，有进没出，可能多些日子我持续向横发展，到时大家可能就不认得我了。

其实我曾经胖过的，现在也有一点胖啦，不信吗？看看下面三张照片！

前天（星期六），接近上午时分才醒来，迷糊中看了闹钟一眼，才惊然发现自己“昏迷”到1235pm了！于是，我匆匆忙忙洗了澡和梳理一番后，前后不到三十分钟就踏出家门了，赶往我舅舅家，庆贺我表弟（新家庭成员）满月！到了那边后，首要任务就是去祝贺祝贺，第二件任务就是吃！因为我肚子咕咕的大叫了！第三件任务就是再吃多一盘！哈哈哈！

到了中午时分，临时有些事情得去处理，于是得下去Compass Point一趟，真麻烦死人了。事情处理好后，蔡汉荣老师到Compass Point接我去他家闲聊，然后才起程去位于Tanglin一带的录音室，叫做Gingerbread Studio。录音室的室内装潢还颇为新潮的，颜色的配搭不错，里头让人感觉蛮轻松的！

录制完Demo Track后，已经差不多10.00pm了，我约了朋友在Boat Quay的Sake（酒吧）聚会，好在有老师驾车送我过去，省了一笔德士费用，哈哈哈。

抵达Boat Quay后，我和Peter的肚子都饿了，于是我们到附近的肉搓面摊先吃些东西顶着，哈哈。
到了Sake后，Clement老早就在那等候了，后来Kaileng，Jae和Mio才陆陆续续抵达，大家聊天唱歌，过了愉快的一晚。

快乐的时光总是来的快，去的更快！

到了早上，人人都回家睡觉，可我还得去工作，因为在10am约了人做访问，做资料搜集，哎哟啊，真糟糕，好在我先自己灌了咖啡，要不然... 哈哈哈。

新的部落格+近日概况！

原本我有一个部落格在Alivenotdead！
后来发现，许多朋友好像都没办法阅读，所以另外设了一个新的部落格！

最近好像闹失踪似的，好多朋友和知己都久没联络了，偶尔想起它们仍然是感触良多的，毕竟它们陪伴我走过了成长岁月，我们曾经一起玩过，笑过，愁过，苦过，在我脑海里点点滴滴的回忆至今依然清晰可见，尤其是以前打羽毛球的那些兄弟们，还真想他们，哈哈哈！

哎呀，还是让我逐一向大家汇报我近日的概况吧！

首先！就如以上所提到的，我很想念以前的老朋友和旧同学，哎哟，真无奈，大家好像各散东西，各忙各的了，搞得我也没法子了！

前几天，刚和朋友们去消遣，有两张比较像样的照片给大家分享（其实，我很少拍照的，这两张还是从Facebook摘的嘞）！

说到学校上课，你看了以下这张照片，应该能体会我的心情了吧...

好啦，谈到工作嘛...

许声亮老师最近成立了自己的公司 --- 智者影视文化有限公司。公司的业务包括了中国/新加坡的影视制作，影片发行和投资。老师很信任我，很疼我，老是带着我到处跑，也透过他，我有幸认识了很多圈内的前辈，获益不浅，我很感激他！对了，我也加盟了他的公司。最近嘛... 正替公司做影片发行，主要是从事影片采购和发行工作，现阶段，一切还尚算顺利，哈哈哈。目前，公司虽已经成立，但仍处于雏形，等一切妥善后，再另行向大家报告！到时会有更精彩和有趣的事情噢！

好消息，我开始作词了，一共为三首歌曲作了歌词！
歌曲是由新加坡乐坛前辈蔡汉荣先生自编的，我只是负责作词罢了！
可惜，目前还不能把音乐上载到部落格，因为这三首歌曲还没正式发行，其中两首仍然在录音的阶段，所以呢... 就请大家拭目以待了！哈哈哈哈。

另外的好消息，我接了《青涩部落格2》的剧本工作！
希望能尽快完成，及早脱稿，哈哈哈。

其实，还有一些项目在进行当中，但还没成功，所以就暂且不谈了，等到落实之后，再把喜悦一一向大家分享吧！我好期待噢！我先预祝自己成功吧！

最近我的好兄弟Gim让我帮他编写他Showreel的剧本，挺有趣的！他召集了我们一斑新/旧朋友，拍一段搞笑加Rap类似Mv形式的Reel，哈哈哈，看他那么兴奋，我也替他兴奋了起来！

厚脸皮时刻到了，我之前自编自导的短片，目前在剪接和调色的阶段，希望能尽早出炉，给大家观赏！拍这短片时，好多朋友都鼎力相助，如Raymond，Gim，Jae，Szu Kiong，Sharon，Nauwroz，Colin，Kim Kong，Vivek，Si Hui，Angelina，Andrea，Jing Leow，Michael，Chee Wee，Wei Yong，Daniel，Sarah，Jasmine，Matthew，Yue Han，我真的很感激它们！当然，我也很感谢声亮和Francis到现场来探我班，给我鼓励，谢谢噢！对了，我的好朋友Jae Leung和Raymond Yong都是Alivenotdead的艺术家！记得当初是Jae介绍我到Alivenotdead的，然后再由我介绍Raymond到Alivenotdead的！哈哈哈！
